1: Joseph has over 30 years of sculpting experience behind him and has sculpted approximately 700 original artworks. Joseph's jewelry designs in 1982, were used by the United States Center for Environmental Education for their fundraising campaigns and catalogs. Joseph's creations have been featured in newspapers, television, magazines and radio, as well as the prestigious GUMPS catalog. Several celebrities own his artwork, including Lisa Marie Presley, the late James Doohan (Scotty from Star Trek), Nicholas Cage, Mark Wahlberg, music producer Phil Spector and Valerie Harper. EVERY MAJOR Environmental artist owns Joseph's artwork, including Wyland, Robert Lyn Nelson and Christian Lassen. Other notables include PRO GOLFER Ratief Goosen, Environmentalist Ed Begley Jr, automobile Hall of Fame legend Vic Edelbrock, Dr Joyce Brothers, author Jack Canfield who wrote the "Chicken Soup" books, the late Steve Irwin, "The Crocodile Hunter" and Joel Wachs, president of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts in New York City.

2: Joseph was the youngest artist of environmental sculptures to show his work in a major contemporary gallery after he was invited to display his work at the Vorpal Gallery in San Francisco in 1983.

3: All of Joseph's work is done in the United States. Joseph is proud to support American quality and his community. Joseph’s frogs are the only popular Fine Art Frogs made entirely in the USA.

4: Joseph is the sculptor of the MOST PRESTIGIOUS AWARD in Sea Turtles, “The Archie Carr Lifetime Achievement Award“, given annually to the person who has given the most of his life to Sea Turtle Conservation. He also designed and sculpted the “Pacific Peace Award”.

5: Joseph creates and personally sculpts every design.

7: Joseph is an International Award Winning sculptor, winning the prestigious MYSTIC MUSEUM INTERNATIONAL AWARD OF EXCELLENCE.

8: Joseph has MONUMENTS on each coast. The first, an 8 foot Bluefin Tuna on Catalina Island, CA which is part of a California State Historical Monument. The other is a life size sea turtle at the Registry Resort in Naples, Florida.

9: Joseph is a member of numerous conservation organizations contributing to environmental awareness and contributes his time and money to these causes. Joseph works directly with many of those organizations, including the Caribbean Conservation Corp and for the preservation of sea turtles, The Arthur R Marshall Foundation for the preservation of the Everglades, as well as the the Rainforest Alliance and Amphibian Conservation Alliance helping our froggie friends. Joseph also supports and donates to ARTS (A Reason To Survive), a San Diego non-profit dedicated to bringing hope, healing, and self confidence to the lives of children facing adversities by providing expressive opportunities through the visual, performing and literary arts.

10: Joseph never re-releases an artwork in another color under a different name as a new edition!

11: Joseph’s first gallery representation was on Maui in 1983, and he was one of the first artists to work for environmental causes. Joseph, along with Robert Lyn Nelson and George Sumner started the environmental art movement in Hawaii in the early 1980's.

12: Joseph grows organic vegetables, frequents the natural foods store and eats 90% organic. Joseph recycles and drives a fuel efficient car.

13: Joseph’s artwork can be found in the collections of the San Diego Museum of Natural History, the Peabody Museum at Yale University, the Florida Museum of Natural History at the University of Florida, the Miami Seaquarium as well as the offices of the Caribbean Conservation Corporation and The Catalina Conservancy.

notes: Joseph comes from a family of talented artists. His Father, John Quillan was a comedy writer and wrote for several radio shows of the 1950’s. His scripts are archived at the UCLA School of Theatre, Film and Television. Joseph’s mother, Anita Quillan was a dancer and was featured in many Hollywood movies of the 1930’s. His Uncle Eddie Quillan starred in over 60 motion pictures and was discovered by Mack Sennett in the 1920’s. He starred in “The Grapes of Wrath” and “Young Mr. Lincoln” with Henry Fonda, “Mutiny on the Bounty” with Clark Gable and was the man who taught Gene Kelly how to dance the jig in “Brigadoon”. All twelve of Joseph’s aunts and uncles have been in movies of some sort. His Uncle Joe Quillan wrote the 1950’s television comedy, “Our Miss Brooks”, as well as several movies starring Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. Joseph’s sister Kate was a model, while his sister Barbara starred as one of the main characters in the original 1936 version of “Swiss Family Robinson” at the age of three.
